You have heard people say that a church is so much more than a building? That life is made up of the people in it not the things you surround yourself with. A community is the same way. A community is made up of so much more than green parks, black top roads, tall or historic buildings and full leaf trees. It's the people. The PEOPLE make a community.
This passage takes it a step further by saying that as people come and go from your community, the infrastructure will remain... "the community may remain reasonably intact but the community itself falls into disarray."
I'm thankful today for those in my community who make it enjoyable for me. My friends who will meet me for a late night snack, my family who taught me so much about where I came from and those I don't know who do more than I'm aware of to make it a great place to live. :)
What are you thankful for in this community?
Kelly
